Superbowl 5K

On February 7th, I ran in the Superbowl 5K in Okemos. It was a pretty good race because it was a flat course, and there was a pretty large crowd to run with. Going into the race, I set a goal to break 20 minutes. This was a goal that I felt was very attainable based on the amount of training I was doing, and I felt this would put me on pace for where I want to be in June.

It ended up being a pretty good day. I felt comfortable for the whole run, and I finished with a time of 20:12. I think I could have gotten to my goal, but the entire second mile of my run was complete ice. I lost my balance and almost fell three times, and the footing was terrible which slowed down my pacing. Even with all of that, I was still right around sub 20, so I'll take it. Hopefully, I can keep up with my training and can get to my goal of a sub 19 race by the end of the summer.
