Substitute Teaching
So, since I've finished school, I've been substitute teaching to keep myself busy. It's also a good way to keep the pocket book full. The one thing that is great about substitute teaching is that I get an opportunity to keep myself acclimated to the classroom environment. The one thing that sucks about it is that I don't really know the kids, and they generally don't respond to my classroom management style.
This got me thinking about when I was younger, and a substitute teacher would come in and teach our classes. We definitely did the same things to them. For that, I feel Karma has come back and bitten my ass. No doubt about it. I enjoy teaching, and the challenges it provides me. And, with everyday that I am in a different classroom, I am learning more about the teaching field, and things about myself as a teacher. I've spent most of my time in the high school setting, a place where I haven't much experience as a teacher. This poses a challenge to me because I'm used to having a little bit of what I like to call "recess leverage" to hold over the kids. So, I've had to find different ways to keep the kids in line. I've thought of using the advice of my good friend Jake Nelson, and take out the Alpha male with a book to the face. The problem is, I'd like to be invited back. I guess I'll have to come up with something new. I'm out.

Girl Hitler had a problem with kids "dilly-dallying" but she "stabilized it by removing ze feet of the alpha males, UND DE POPULAR GIRLS!"
Maybe you could try that.
