Mr. Grumpy
I found this little guy walking through my side yard yesterday as I was heading back to work after lunch. I call him Mr. Grumpy. Click on the image to embiggin.
Oh, and by little guy, I of course mean at least 18-20 inches head to tail.

If you go to this link towards the bottom of the page there are several photos of a snapping turtle that looks as if he could be Mr. Grumpy's cousin... Mr. Poopy Pants?

While on vacation last week there was a snapping turtle in the middle of road (on Beaver Island in the middle of Lake MI). A man was trying to push him to the side of the road with a stick so he wouldn't get run over. The turtle starting jumping! It jumped all 4 feet off the ground and lunged at the man. It bit his stick in two and started hissing and jumping some more. I now have turtle phobia!

that's a big turtle. did he happen to be racing a hare when you saw him? he looks like he's in speed mode.

you know that smapper turtle is good eathing, has 6 different kinds of meat, i ate one when i was a small kid, at a neigbor house, i was about 4 i would say, youir grandmother and I cooked one, we must of did some thing wrong, it tasted like march water, so we thrkough it out love you all paw
