Dog DaysI feel like I

Dog Days

I feel like I should be blogging more but there just isn't anything going on in my life right now. I don't know if it's the dog days of summer or if it's because all I do is sit on the couch and send out resumes day after day. The good news is I put up two new Johnny Rockstar cartoons. Read, wash and repeat.

New stuff

Check out the new cartoon link at the top of this page. There's not many yet, but it should expand slowly so check back later. Also, it's been so long since we've done anything for points. 2 Points if you can tell me what I was watching while writing this.

The good lifeOkay, so except

The good life

Okay, so except for the fact that I'm a college grad who's living with his parents because he can't find a job, I really am living the good life. For instance, last night I was treated to a wet burrito supreme at Joe's Gizzard City. Then I spent the evening drinking free Pepsi at two different bars. Today I had my regular Wednesday afternoon hour-long massage and Friday, I'm sure, will continue the tradition of kicking off the weekend with dinner at Joe's or The Creek... on my Father's dime. Short story long, there’s nothing like being pampered to keep the spirits up.

In other news, you may notice my diploma on the right side of the screen. It doesn't get more official than that. Step aside Einstein, I’ve got me a bachelor of Arts degree.

Come on down... againSeveral years

Come on down... again

Several years ago I thought I saw the worst prize ever on The Price is Right. It was a years supply of bread in the showcase showdown. However, today that prize was trumped. Before I say what it was I want to explain how it was won. An Armenian woman had to play blackjack for it but she had never played cards in her life. To get a card she had to pick out different products and to do that she would point to each product on the board and listen to the audience’s response. Turns out that worked great and she actually got a blackjack. Now what did she win? A all expenses paid trip to glorious Canada! Whew, what a prize. Usually you see trips to Scotland, Australia, Jamaica, or some other exotic place. Not this time. Today it was all about Canada.

Come on downDoes anyone remember

Come on down

Does anyone remember last summer when I was addicted to Dawson's Creek re-runs? I fell off the wagon last winter when I was in California for a couple weeks. I wouldn’t do anything or go anywhere until I got my fix. I've noticed it's still on but I've outgrown my crush on Katie Holmes, probably because she's into Scientology now. Call me crazy but belonging to a freaky cult is a major turn off. Fortunately Bob Barker and The Price is Right is around to fill the hole in my late morning tv watching schedule. Has anyone beside me ever wondered just how hard it is to spin that giant wheel?

Jazz is an intensified feeling

Jazz is an intensified feeling of nonchalance. or The blues are about good men living bad lives.

JazzFest is going down in old town this weekend. Next to the blues, jazz is my favorite form of live music. They're both so much more raw and emotional than a lot other forms of music. That rawness is amplified when the musicians are performing live and have a bit more free range than when they're working on a studio project. Short story long, a band called Society is playing at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, if anyone wants to come with me that would be awesome. I'd also be down for checking out Dick Fizzell and the Dixieland Express at 4:00 p.m. if anyone wanted to see them too.

Movie NightYou know a movie

Movie Night

You know a movie is going to be good when the opening scene shows a giant freaky looking guy dragging a dead naked woman through the woods. The Devils Rejects has more bloody naked women in it than any movie I have ever scene. If you can stand the ultra-violence, I have to admit, it was actually a pretty good movie. Wicked good soundtrack too.
