Alas, poor Yorick! I knew

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him well

It's been a slow day at work so I decided to look up some old text based adventure games on the internet. I played all the way through Hamlet this afternoon. I miss text based games. I like how you have to draw a map to keep track of where you are and all the old commands like inv, look, use, and read. So much fun, I think I'm going to find another one to play right now.

Also don't forget that today is the last day to vote for your favorite cartoon. The one about me has it by a nose right now.

I want to be something

I want to be something useful like a teacher's aide or a prison guard or a science fiction cartoon writer.

If I ever become a famous writer I'm telling you now that you should pay close attention to names in my stories. There's often some sort of secret meaning or message behind the names in my stories. For instance I just finished a story where a man sacrifices his life to save the president. The man’s name is Avery Leah Dowels and if you rearrange the letters of his name you get Lee Harvey Oswald. Ironic? Yes. Pointless? Maybe. Fun? Definitely. Here's something else I wrote recently, if you’re interested. It’s the longest poem I’ve ever written.

Usually when you pack, moving

Usually when you pack, moving tends to follow.

I need help in a serious way. I've got to do a lot of moving this Sunday and I want to do it quick and early. Can anyone help?

Update
I hope to get on the road by 10:30. It's going to be a fast move-all-the-big-stuff-as-quick-as-possible then head back to Potterville by the afternoon move.

He's out to prove he's

He's out to prove he's got nothing to prove.

I give you Napoleon Dynamite. Coming to a theatre near you!

Look, it's only a birthday

Look, it's only a birthday present. It just means I'm glad you didn't die partway through the year.

Today is my Birthday. In honor of that, let me tell you a few things about myself. I am 24 years old today. Despite being 6 years into college, I am fairly happy with my life at the moment. I am my father's son. I like Neil Diamond and hate The Doors but I prefer good live blues to any other form of music. I am my mother's baby. I get grumpy when I'm tired and don't like to speak at all in the morning. I wear my watch so it faces down instead of up. In the shower I always wash my left arm before my right. I despise fashion trends and try to always be one step outside of pop culture. Finally, despite my musical ineptitude, I am a Rockstar.

They're different from my other

They're different from my other friends, they don't start sentences with "you know who just died shoveling snow?"

Who's down for visiting Bourke this Friday or Saturday?

In other news Lance Armstrong just flew past Voeckler to take the yellow jersey. Armstrong is now nine and a half minutes ahead of Voeckler.

I got you this cellphone

I got you this cellphone to make up for everything. Stop crying.

Many of you know that my cell phone went through the wash a few weeks ago. Friday it completely died so this weekend my parents gave me my birthday present a couple of days early. I've got a new phone with a new number. You can contact me from here or send me and email and I'll give you my new number.

In other news I'm working on a voting page for the cartoons. Stay tuned.

You know, you got thirty-six

You know, you got thirty-six points on the first three holes alone!

A few posts back somebody mentioned it being time for more bonus points so here you go. Find the funniest internet cartoon you can and put the address in the comments. At the end of the week we'll all vote or something.

The most high-tech thing on

The most high-tech thing on this computer is the flying toaster screen saver.

Few things in this world are as satisfying as having your laptop computer boot up normally after you took out every screw you could find, pried everything apart, then superglued some plastic pieces back into place. I have no qualms about ripping open a desktop computer but this was the first time I opened a laptop. A few days ago I tripped over the power cord and yanked my computer off the coffee table. Last night when I went to plug it in I noticed the jack was broken. This morning I fixed it. I rock!

Painting is seeing, then remembering

Painting is seeing, then remembering better than you saw.

The new picture is of a painting I bought yesterday for a dollar. The artist is about to move and is selling anything and everything he can to make a little extra cash before he leaves. But the real cool thing is that I had him sign the back of the painting: To Johnny, my number one fan. I also got to hear the history behind it. Apparently it deals with an ancient Aztec myth about a god who used to think it was great fun to play tricks on humans.

It took the class 40

It took the class 40 minutes to locate Canada on a map.

I had my first meeting with my Independent Study teacher. We met at a coffee shop and when I got there I found that another girl had joined. The amazing thing is that she is also a senior who was a journalism major and English minor but recently flip flopped them to become an English major. So now the three of us meet once a week at the Water Street Coffee Joint for a discussion. It's almost more like a book club than a class. School has never been so fun.
