I've noticed that it's becoming

I've noticed that it's becoming increasingly hard to purchase a 20 oz. bottle of Pepsi at the grocery store lately. In our bigger is better society the size of single beverage has increased by another four ounces. I remember way back before the 20 oz when pop only came in a can. I'll spare you my "this is just another sign of what America is becoming" rant and just link to this instead.

Yesterday while at a rather

Yesterday while at a rather trendy store in the mall I glanced at a rack of CD's and saw a simple black jewel case with a small black and white photo of a somewhat gnarled old man and in white bold letters across the top "CASH". It was American IV: The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash. I snatched it up and popped it into my player as soon as I sat down in my car. American IV is a far cry from the Johnny Cash I once new. Comprised mostly of somber cover songs who’s collective theme seems to revolve around death and depression. Which is not surprising on account of his recent decline in health and although the songs are not as upbeat as A Boy Named Sue or Cocaine Blues, his particular style still shines through. It shines through the way an ominous storm cloud shines depression through my bedroom window. The low point of the album comes in the form of an atrocious version of Desperado that leaves the listener wondering just how far past his prime Johnny Cash really is. It is true that his voice has definitely deteriorated from the days of Wanted Man. However the obvious effort he put into the content of the album and the inclusion of a few choice songs such as Hurt more than make up for his failing vocal chords. It should be mentioned that the Johnny Cash of old does appear once on American IV in the form of, Sam Hall, which is a song about a defiant outlaw about to be hanged. If you like Johnny Cash pick it up but don't expect what you are used to. If you don't like him pass it by.

Baby has been in need

Baby has been in need of a new cage for a while and last night I finally got her one. The new one is a little smaller than her old one but it has three levels instead of two, plastic coated wire cage, plastic bottom that pops right off for easier cleaning and special doors designed for expansion. Although smaller, I think it is much nicer and because it's easier to clean I will probably clean it more often making it nicer for her to live in. I hope she likes it.

Why is it that the turtle has been labled natures D student?

If someone were to ask

If someone were to ask me what I'm doing at work right now I would say "I'm making a physical database of KIP mortality parts, after that I'll move on to Xerox, Oce, Richo, and then maybe Kodak. I also oversee the workers in the printroom and delivery staff. It's my job to make sure when an order comes in it goes throught the proper channels and gets delivered on time." Sounds a little more impressive than it actually is, but I'm actually staying busy for the first time in quite a while.

I played the best video

I played the best video game ever last night. So picture this: You're a well endowed cowgirl with a pair of Ruger knock-offs running around an Alamo style compound of some sort being chased by flaming monkeys. Thats right, flaming monkeys. The object is to stay away from the flaming monkeys for as long as possible. Actually it starts with only one flaming monkey and a bunch of non-flaming monkeys but they eventually all get set of fire too. In my opinion the best part is the flaming monkeys.

I think my family had

I think my family had a rather nice Fathers Day yesterday. Between the T-Bone steaks and the new goats it was a fun afternoon. After a busy Gizzard Fest Saturday it was a nice relaxing Sunday with my family. Just what the doctor ordered.

I laughed out loud when

I laughed out loud when I read this. I doubt many of you will do the same, but I think it's a good example of the type of humor I really enjoy.

I am in desperate need

I am in desperate need of a neck rub. All I do at work now is stare at the computer screen which leads to a kink in my neck halfway between the base of my neck and my skull. On top of that I've slept wrong the past two nights. I think I'm going to lay down with a heating pad tonight while I watch Old School.

I drove down to Kalamazoo

I drove down to Kalamazoo today to pick up some newspapers and check the bulletin boards at Western for possible apartments. I have to say that after driving around down there for awhile and eating lunch at the Old Peninsula brew pub I'm really looking forward to moving down there in the fall.

It's trivia day and I

It's trivia day and I can't wait. Every Thursday a group of us get together at Hooters (sorry Sarah), eat dinner, and play trivia. We're kind of like a group of old men who get together every Sunday morning for coffee. But instead of coffee it's wings, plus there are Hooter girls, and we're not old.

It turns out my drug

It turns out my drug dealing neighbors didn't move. Just the hot girlfriend. Alas... no more afternoon eye candy.

My drug dealer neighbors moved

My drug dealer neighbors moved away yesterday. Which is not to say my drug dealers, but my neighbors who happen to deal drugs. It's too bad really, they didn't complain when we had loud parties and one of them had an incredibly hot girlfriend. I would have preferred it if the old Asian people moved instead. Their grandkids are always on my porch.
